Motorola HS820 [May 10 2007, 0 Comments]
I have been using the Motorola HS820 hands free set for the last 2 years and it's done its time. The handset is great and has great quality. It pairs up with my phone very well and is very impressive in terms of quality. There are no downsides to it.

When I first purchased the headset people would look at me as if I was crazy. I would walk into a local store talking to someone on it and until the cashier would see that I had something in my ear, they would immediately think I'm talking to myself, it was as if cell phones were re-invented again. But now, I think it is time for a new hands free device.

Linksys WRT300N [May 17 2007, 0 Comments]
After having two poor experiences with previous routers, I tried to purchase the latest and greatest router. Introducing the Linksys WRT300N.

Latest? Yes. Greatest? Possibly not. After purchasing it I found out there are a lot of bad reviews for the Linksys WRT300N. However most of them reviews are based on using the wireless "N" technology, which isn't a standard as of yet. Therefore, the reviews are based on a draft.

To me, this is fine as we aren't using Wireless "N" network cards as of yet, we are still in the "G" era. So my review is based on using the WRT300N with a wireless G nic on my MAC, and a 10/100mbps wired nic card on my Windows Machine.

So far, things are running smooth. The router isn't dropping my signal and it looks to be running smoother then any of the other wireless routers I have tried. The device works great for transferring large or small files through the wireless connection and can handle the constant traffic going through our connection. I have lost the signal once with my wireless "G" nic card and I can not blame the router as it may have been my own fault. The good news was that the wireless router was picked back up immediately.

As for cost, it was the most expensive router I could purchase at the local futureshop, but it out performs the other routers I tried. Therefore, as usual, you get what you pay for.

All in all, things are running smooth with the router.

D-Link WBR2310 [April 29 2007, 0 Comments]
After using the D-Link WBR2310 for 14 days, I decided it was best that I return it to the local Futureshop.

At first I only had a couple problems with the router, it would reboot periodically, which caused the connection to both my computer (Windows) & my laptop (MAC) to drop. I thought okay, I'll just upgrade the firmware and hopefully it will help. Two firmware upgrades later it made a little bit of a difference. The connection would only drop once a day, as opposed to the previous 3-4 times a day.

Then a week later. The router started rebooting every 15-20 minutes! So I packed it up and took it back to Futureshop.

I then purchased a LinkSys WRT300N and it is an interesting looking Wireless Router for sure! (Review to come later)
