| Reseller Hosting FAQ
- What is reseller hosting?
Reseller hosting is a form of web hosting wherein the account owner may split up their alloted hard drive space and bandwidth and resell web hosting.
- What are the advantages to reseller hosting?
With reseller hosting the only thing the reseller has to concentrate on is customer support and selling the hosting space. In some cases people do not use the reseller accounts to resell hosting but to maintain their own sites with their own unique control panels.
- Are there any setup fees?
There are NO setup fees for shared or reseller accounts.
- Do you have cPanel/WHM?
Yes all servers have cPanel installed on them for usage. All your clients get access to Cpanel while you get
one username and password for your reseller control panel (WHM) to maintain your accounts.
- What happens if I exceed my space and bandwidth limit?
Once you occupy 80% of your accounts allocated space/bandwidth you
(as well as us) as notified by an automatic email message that alerts you. In this email it states your using 80% of the space or bandwidth. Shortly after you get
this email, another email will be sent from us giving you the different options you have. Your options are to upgrade to another plan or to upgrade to a custom plan.
- Can I have cron jobs?
Yes you are allowed to have cron jobs and they are easily setup with the click of a button.
- Does dotServing support PHP? ASP? ASP.net?
We do support PHP and ASP files types. MySQL databases are also allowed however we do not have any ASP.net support.
- How long does it take for my account to be setup?
This depends on how easy it is to contact you. Before any accounts are setup we will contact the account owner (via phone) to verify their account information. Therefore if you enter in a phone number where you are not easily reached at it may take some time, however if you enter in a number you can be reached as 24x7 then it should be within 2 hours.
- What are the server specs? Processor? Ram?
Each of dotServing's servers have a minimum of 2.8 GHZ processing power, as well as a minimum of 1GB Ram.
- Do you support Frontpage Extensions?
Yes Frontpage extensions are installed on all of our servers.
- How much is it per additional GB bandwidth?
Additional bandwidth can be purchased at the rate of $0.50 per GB bandwidth. If you purchase in bulk amounts the cost decreases on the per gb scale.
- Can I have a dedicated IP for my reseller account?
Yes dedicated IP addresses are avaliable. The cost per IP is $3.00 a month.
- Do you answer support tickets from our clients?
No we do not support your clients however if your clients ask a question that you do not have the answer to
you can certainly open a support ticket with us and we will do our best to answer it.
- Do you do backups of my client's sites?
Yes! Each server is equipped with multiple hard drives to store backups. Every day your site is backed up and store on the backup hard drive. Then once a week we will move everything from the backup hard drive onto our remote backup server. This means we have every site backed up twice, but remember you are the one responsible for your site and we suggest you maintain a backup of your site as well!
